Dixie Chicks
I was very happy to learn recently that the Dixie Chicks are back! However, and rightly so, it is reported that They are Not Ready to Make Nice, as their new single's title suggests. Well good for them! Who could blame em?
Who could blame them for being pissed off at the vast number of Americans who WISHED THEM DEATH and THREATENED SUCH... all becuase of a comment. It appears, that MORE Americans AGREE with OSAMA, who bush says HATES OUR FREE SPEECH, than agree with our FIRST AMENDMENT! Way to go! Apparently those Americans would rather see the Dixie Chicks beheaded in the Muslim tradition, than to stand up and say DISSENT is what makes our country so great!
Well ladies, bush is at a 34% Approval rating over his LIES about this war. I say, DISSENT away, America is LISTENING and CHEERING you on! Tell the 34% to GO TO HELL! , that Osama is WITH them!

This is the message I receive when I try and access jerryweller.com, his campaign website. I wonder if he's trying to tell me something.
I called his office today to see if he had a statement on KNOWING about the leaks at the nuke plants 2 yrs ago....and what he has to say about ethics reform, and if he'd moved in to his new house in Joliet yet, and if his wife lived there too if he did move in... well of course no one seems to know where Jerry is... or when he will return... or what his "schedule" for appearances in the district is while he's supposedly here on recess... but the lady on the phone assured me she would have someone contact me regarding my questions. Yeah right!
see above.

It's Time For Weller to GO!
It's Time For Jerry Weller To Go
I have followed Congressman Jerry Weller very closely over the last year and four months, and it's very plain, Weller's concerns are for big business, welfare for big business, tax cuts as incentives to big business to outsource jobs, more, more, more money for big oil and energy companies, absolving corporations of any pending or future liabilities from harm they may cause, (MTBE, misleading credit card offers) and he was one of just eight, out of 23 total to vote against a bi-partisan 3 pt. plan for Iraq in the Foreign Relations Committee.
And then there is CAFTA (Central American Free Trade Agreement). To me, it comes as no surprise that all of a sudden the Republicans are so hyped up about alternative fuels like ethanol and E85. Both of these come from corn... and in Central America corn is grown cheaper, and newly built ethanol plants will not have the environmental standards like here in the US. Last summer when China was trying to purchase our oil company, it was argued in the Senate hearings that CAFTA offered a great opportunity to America's "security" by importing cheap ethanol under CAFTA. Yes, importing, not expanding America's corn production is the plan for ethanol.
It is also clear to me, that Weller prefers $10.00 hr. forklift driving jobs to offering incentives to companies for good paying manufacturing jobs in America. Think about this, at the Deer Run Industrial Park, last I checked there were at the most 100 cars in the warehouse parking lots, everyone I saw was either driving a semi truck or a forklift, and I would guess that one forklift driver can support 100 workers who manufacture the goods made in China and elsewhere. At $10.00 hr. for a 40 hr week after taxes, medical insurance, rent, food, utilities and gas for the car to get to work... who can afford to go to Walmart? Even a job at Caterpillar isn't what it once was. (but they sure cleaned up under CAFTA)
Oh, and I can't help but wonder if Exelon offered to pay for part of the new water treatment plant (not covered by state and local $$) due to the tritium spill, only because it's an election year. Exelon is Weller's top contributor you know.
This is just a portion of Weller's positions these past months. Trust me, the rest aren't any better.
